Ian Jones

Originally from a small market town in North Wales, Ian’s aviation journey began as an aeronautical engineer before he transitioned into the cockpit as a pilot. His career has spanned military service, where he gained invaluable experience flying alongside different aircraft and nationalities, to the offshore industry operating large helicopters like the S-92. He has also spent extensive time in air ambulance operations, combining technical skill with lifesaving service.

 

Ian joined HALO just over a year ago on a part-time basis after being invited by long-time colleagues Graham and Ryan. Initially brought in to assist with night flying, he quickly developed an appreciation for HALO’s mission and team and continues to contribute his expertise.

 

For Ian, one of the most important things is raising awareness of HALO’s role in Southern Alberta, ensuring more people understand the vital service it provides.
